Wall Street Journal - Circuitous Ramblings from Tony E.
So often, we miss what’s right under our noses. What’s incredible about cycling? “Tony, what are you doing this RIDE bike for?
A bike is still the most efficient way for Human’s to cover terrain—with all the technological advances in modern history, that’s a very cool thing. It stirs my soul.
A bike is still a wind in your hair, thrill of balance and inertia, heart pumping. Lung filling, muscle flexing experience---I don’t’ know about you, but everything I do that’s fun includes those things!
I have a vision of being able to share cycling with more people. Sure there are those of us that are nuts about Mountain Biking, roots, rocks, mountains and steep grades; and those of us that get a kick out of shooting head first through the peloton on a 13 pound road bike at 60kph. GREAT! But how many people are intimidated and shocked by those two extremes and yet still thrill at having wind in their hair with heart beating, muscles flexing and thrilling at the inertia and balance of riding a bike?
The Answer? A far bigger number then those of us that enjoy the extremities of our sport of cycling.
“The RIDE” is Ellsworth’s contribution to INVITING, ATTRACTING, and REWARDING any human who ever learned to balance a bike. The mission: To expand our sport, to include and capture a much larger cross section of our planets population by enticing, attracting and rewarding participants with this new category of “Performance Lifestyle” bikes.
The Ride is a performance bike. It utilizes the material utilization technologies of other Ellsworth Frames, component design and selection that rivals the performance of any top of the line components. Capitalizes on the exciting new Transmission technology afforded us by the NuVinci CVP hub (www.nuvinci.com). The RIDE is bio-kinetically designed to deliver human energy efficiently to forward motion. This is the key ingredient in all the Ellsworth Designed frames. In short. It’s everything good about the high performance cycling lifestyle, in a inviting, non intimidating—“get on me and ride” package.
I hope you’ll all take a moment to share with me the triumph of having just introduced the heart pumping, hair blowing thrill of cycling to over 2 million people world wide via the Wall Street Journal.
Thanks for sharing this achievement with me and my staff who work so hard for cycling to be a wonderful experience for everyone.
Have a great weekend. Enjoy the Ride!
Warmest regards,
Tony Ellsworth
